体勢

The proper Posture in Sumou consists of the following parts:

1. Hips as low as possible. 2. Knees wide. 3. Back bent not straight. 4. Chin tucked in not protruding. 5. Elbows jammed in tightly. 6. Palms open facing upwards. 7. Palms wider than elbows.

This is the basic Posture that must maintained throughout the Shoubu. Any deviation from signifies something went wrong and should be a point for Reflection.

The proper Posture also relates to impact at the Tachiai.

The Posture at the Tachiai must conform to the Ice-cube Tachiai principle.
